When someone was evacuated from the field to a hospital because of a wound, and if the wound kept them in the hospital more that 90 days, they became assigned to that particular hospital unit or another associated unit. Therefore, several WIA's who died in the care of a hospital, and were being accounted for by another unit besides the 173d, did not receive accounting by the 173d. Also, their status may have been MIA, meaning, they wouldn't be listed as KIA until some point and time in the future. We at 173d.com regret this and ask visitors, who may have information on someone who is not listed, to make us aware of the discrepancy. To report any errors please contact the 173d.com WEBMASTER
